Lafnitz river meadows
Lafnitz river meadows
The Lafnitz has its source in the Styrian Wechselgebiet, an Alpine region at the border of Styria and Lower Austria. It runs for about 110 km before flowing into the River Raab near Szentgotthárd in Hungary. This waterway is deemed to be one of Europe’s oldest borders. The diverse fauna of the River Lafnitz include brook trout, kingfishers and otters among a (largely unknown) world of micro organisms
